  When we arrived to the restaurant, out of the blue there was just a piece of printer paper on the door saying "closed", which is a shame because we had been traveling for quite a while and heard good things about the place.

  I used to work there. We once had a new cook leave during his first shift because he refused to served people fish cooked in a microwave. I was told to watch the owner when he was in the kitchen because he would take food out of the garbage that didn't have bites out of it and try to put it back in rotation- specifically tomatoes. The original owners ran the business successfully, with clean food cooked properly. The people who bought it ran it into the ground- they cut back on things they didn't think we needed- like proper cleaning supplies and skimmed our checks. The income for a waitress dropped from over $140 in tips, to less than $40 under the new management (because business was always horrible). The only reason it's still running is because family members bail the restaurant out. I can't imagine it's different. Just know if you go nothing is actually clean (not that that should be a surprise because.. well you'll understand if you go inside).
